It’s not every Denver jeweler who can say that they made a custom black diamond ring for Elvis Presley, but Kortz can! After searching for an exclusive black diamond for 14 years, in 1976 Elvis finally contacted none other than Bob Kortz, a Denver personal jeweler, to create the exact piece he wanted. Bob immediately set to work to locate the very rare gem.

The King and His Black Diamond Ring

Kortz successfully tracked down the unique gem and delivered it to Elvis himself, who was vacationing in Vail at the time. Not only did Kortz go on to make the ring, but he made a good friend, as well! And Elvis never forgot the Colorado origins of his Kortz Original ring.
