The Origin of the Good Luck Buffaloes
With Coach Prime leading the way, the CU Buffaloes have made a triumphant return, and Bob has brought back the tradition of creating these iconic pendants. Just like the Buffaloes resurgence on the field, these pendants once again represent the spirit of comeback and excellence. They serve as a testament to the enduring connection between the fans and their beloved Buffaloes.
For the Kortz family, jewelry is a family tradition. Since 1892, Kortz Jewelry Co. has been a shining gem in the heart of Downtown Denver, witnessing the city’s transformation from dirt roads and horse-drawn carriages to a bustling metropolis. Founded by Harry Kortz, the jewelry store originally stood on 15th Street, until it relocated to the 16th street mall where it stood proud as a landmark for 94 years.
Bob Kortz became an integral part of the family business, collaborating with his father, Benjamin, to shape the future of the store. Handed down from three previous generations, Robert Kortz eventually took over the family business in 1985.
A Reputation Built on Quality
Under Bob’s steadfast leadership, Kortz Jewelry has upheld an impeccable reputation for delivering top-quality jewelry. This dedication has enabled him to curate a devoted clientele base, including individuals in law enforcement, local, state, and federal government, as well as prominent sports personalities affiliated with the Denver Broncos, the Nuggets, and the Rockies. It has been Bob’s privilege and honor to serve these esteemed clients.
